New Delhi, 08 May (Hindustan Times). Airlines company GoFirst has requested the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to take an early decision on the voluntary insolvency resolution petition. Meanwhile, lessors have started de-registering the company’s planes.
The matter was mentioned before the principal bench of the tribunal headed by Ramalingam Sudhakar by senior advocate P Nagesh along with Pranjal Kishore, the company said in a statement issued on Monday. GoFirst has requested the tribunal to decide its plea at the earliest, as lessors have started de-registering the airline’s aircraft.
The NCLT bench has said to consider the request of Go First. Meanwhile, Wadia Group’s airline company has approached the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) after filing a voluntary insolvency resolution petition. In fact, the lessors have demanded de-registration of more than 20 aircraft. Significantly, GoFirst has been flying for the last 17 years. The company has suspended the sale of tickets till May 15.
