New Delhi: Google has sold nearly 40 million Pixel smartphones since 2016 and 10 million in the last 12 months. Its newly launched Pixel 8 series is in tremendous demand across the world including India. Google Pixel will sell 37.9 million phones between 2016 and 2023, according to Francisco Geronimo, vice president of global market research firm IDC.
Geronimo posted on Google was closing in on the 30 million milestone last year, with 27.6 million units sold just before the launch of the Pixel 7. According to a 9to5 Google report, the last 12 months have been the best for Google Pixel smartphones.
The tech giant sold around 10 million Pixel smartphones during this period. The all-new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones and Pixel 8 Watch 2 with next-generation AI capabilities are now available in India. Pixel 8 will be priced at Rs 75,999 and Pixel 8 Pro will be priced at Rs 106,999 with some attractive offers. Both devices will be available for purchase on Flipkart from October 12.
Google Pixel Watch 2 is priced at Rs 39,900 and will be available for purchase on Flipkart on the same day. Limited time launch offers in India include Rs 8,000 bank offer at select banks and Rs 3,000 exchange offer on Pixel 8 with its terms and conditions. According to the company, “With any purchase of Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro, you can also purchase Pixel Watch 2 for Rs 19,999 or Pixel Buds Pro for Rs 8,999.”
The new line-up of AI-powered Pixel 8 smartphones comes with the new Tensor G3 chip and will be supported with seven years of ‘OS, security and feature drop updates’. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro feature powerful, advanced camera systems, as well as game-changing editing tools for stunning photo and video quality. “We’ve packed both phones with a new 50-megapixel main camera, which has 21 percent more light sensitivity than the Pixel 7,” the company said.
