In a tweet, Mandaviya said, “After Nano Urea, the government has now approved Nano DAP as well.” Describing it as a step towards achieving self-sufficiency in the field of fertilizers, he said that it would benefit the farmers.

Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya said on Saturday that the government has approved the launch of nano liquid DAP (Di Ammonia Phosphate) fertilizer in the market to benefit the farmers and make the country self-reliant. In a tweet, Mandaviya said, “After Nano Urea, the government has now approved Nano DAP as well.” Describing it as a step towards achieving self-sufficiency in the field of fertilizers, he said that it would benefit the farmers.

Fertilizer Cooperative Union IFFCO, which introduced Nano liquid DAP for the first time in the year 2021, had said on Friday itself that the government has approved the launch of its Nano DAP fertilizer in the market. IFFCO Managing Director US Awasthi had said in a tweet that IFFCO Nano DAP has been approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and has been notified in the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) in view of its encouraging results.

Awasthi had said that IFFCO would manufacture Nano DAP which would be a game changer in Indian agriculture and economy. Awasthi had said in December last that IFFCO would launch a half-litre bottle of Nano DAP at Rs 600. This bottle of Nano DAP will be as effective as one bag of DAP fertilizer, which currently costs Rs 1,350.

IFFCO also launched Nano Urea in the market in June 2021 as an alternative to conventional urea. IFFCO has set up plants in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat for the production of Nano Urea. However, no subsidy is given to the farmers by the government on Nano Urea. Its cost is Rs 240 per bottle.
