Panaji. The Goa government incurred a “wasteful expenditure” of Rs 1.91 crore on procurement of tur dal or tur dal to be distributed to people during the COVID-19 pandemic. Not more than 240 MT of pulses were distributed. Later it got completely spoiled and was not even fit for cattle to eat. According to the CAG, the State Civil Supplies Department suffered a loss of Rs 1.91 crore due to excessive procurement of tur dal in the state.
