Builders were angry to implement new jantri overnight
Let us tell you that the state government had issued a circular in the late evening of February 4 regarding the overnight implementation of the new jantri rates in Gujarat. As per the provision of the circular, the rate of jantri has been doubled in the state and it was decided to implement this rate from February 5 itself. Resentment and discontent was seen in the builder lobby due to the sudden decision taken by the government. Meetings were also held with the Chief Minister on Monday and Tuesday by various builders’ associations. The Chief Minister had assured to consider the demand of the builders.
Despite the Chief Minister’s assurance, there was no solution; on Friday, every district collector across the state was given a complaint letter by the builder associations at the district level. At the same time, yesterday also the Chief Minister had discussed the rate of Jantri in a meeting with the Stamp Duty Superintendent.
