Ranchi, Rajkumar Lal: For the third consecutive year, the embarkation point of Haj pilgrims from Jharkhand has been shifted from Ranchi to Kolkata. This will cause a lot of trouble to the Haj pilgrims here. It is known that before Corona, the plane for Haj pilgrims used to fly directly from Ranchi to Jeddah, which provided a lot of convenience to them. For the first time after the end of Corona, a limited number of embarkation points were made in the country, in which the name of Ranchi was removed. In 2023 also, the embarkation point was changed to Kolkata. Despite much correspondence, the embarkation point could not be restored in Ranchi. After this, the state government sent Haj pilgrims and their families to Kolkata at its own expense. A letter has also been written by the State Haj Committee and Welfare Minister in this matter.
Haj Committee Chairman wrote a letter to the Aviation Minister
State Haj Committee Chairman Dr. Irfan Ansari has expressed objection to this by writing a letter to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in this regard. He said that flights for Haj pilgrims have been operating from Ranchi Embarkation Point since 2009. Seeing the problems of the people here, he has demanded to make Ranchi an embarkation point again. He said that if this is not considered, then after the assembly session he will be asked to meet in Delhi and intervene in this matter.
Till now only 40 to 50 applications have been received
Till now only 40 to 50 applications have come from the state, while December 20 is the last date for applications. Last year about 2,700 Haj pilgrims went on Haj from here.
