On the occasion of Halwa Ceremony organized in North Block, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman served Halwa with her own hands to the officials and her colleagues. It is known that a traditional Halwa ceremony is organized every year before the start of the lock-in process of budget preparation.

Interim budget will be paperless
Like the last three full Union Budgets, Interim Union Budget 2024 Will also be paperless. Union Budget will be available on mobile app. By going digital, MPs and the general public can get budget documents without any hassle.
Budget will be available in two languages
The interim budget will be available in two languages (English and Hindi). Which will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. The app can also be downloaded from the Central Budget web portal (www.indiabudget.gov.in). The budget documents will be available on the mobile app after the completion of the Union Finance Minister’s budget speech in Parliament on February 1, 2024.

Finance and Expenditure Secretary Dr TV Somanathan, Economic Affairs Secretary Shri Ajay Seth, DIPAM Secretary Shri Tuhin Kant Pandey, Revenue Secretary Shri Sanjay Malhotra, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairman Shri Nitin along with the Union Finance Minister at the Halwa ceremony. Gupta, Chairman Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) Shri Sanjay Kumar Agarwal and Additional Secretary (Budget) Ashish Vachani, besides other officers and employees of the Finance Ministry involved in the preparation and compilation process of the budget were also present.
