Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the money saved by your sacrifice will be spent on helping other needy people. The Chief Minister said that people like you are the true strength of the country and society. CM said that the number of eligible senior citizens above the age of 60 years who refuse to take pension with consent is 40 thousand. According to this, approximately Rs 100 crore is earned annually. The Chief Minister said that in the spirit of service, this remaining amount will be spent on service ashrams to be built in 22 districts under the ‘Senior Citizen Service Ashram Scheme’. He announced budget sanction of Rs 100 crore for the construction of their buildings. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that in the budget of this financial year, it was announced to start ‘Prahari’ scheme for the elderly above 80 years of age. The data of Family Identity Card has revealed that there are 3.30 lakh elderly people above 80 years of age in the state. Of these, 3600 elderly people are living alone. Under the ‘Prahari’ scheme, retired government employees will personally meet these elderly people to know about their well-being. He said that if any retired government employee wants to join the Sentinel Scheme, he can join by calling dial 112. CM said that the elderly living alone will be taken care of in Seva Ashrams. One such ashram has been opened in Rewari and another one is under construction in Karnal. Apart from this, land has been identified for these in 14 districts.

While voters in the country are ready to change the government to get free goods and facilities, these 40 thousand senior citizens of Haryana, who are also eligible to get pension, are giving up their pension for charity. There is an old saying that people do not refuse even if they get free fever, whereas these senior citizens of Haryana refused to take their monthly pension.
