New DelhiIndian benchmark indices are trading in the red today. BSE Telecom index was the only sectoral index to gain in the market. BSE Capital Goods index was the top loser sector.

On Friday morning, the BSE Sensex slipped nearly 225 points or 0.35% to trade at 65,027 and the NSE Nifty-50 index fell nearly 70 points or 0.36% to 19,318. Today, 1,394 scrips advanced, 2,048 scrips declined and 154 scrips remained unchanged on the BSE.

Top gainers and losers on BSE:

Bajaj Finserv Ltd, Bajaj Finance Ltd and Asian Paints Ltd were top gainers on the Bombay Stock Exchange today, while UltraTech Cement, Larsen & Toubro Ltd and IndusInd Bank were top losers on the Sensex. The BSE Mid-cap index was down 0.60% and the BSE Small-cap index was down 0.24% in the broader market. Top mid-cap gainers are Vodafone India Limited and Castrol India Limited, while top small-cap gainers are VST Tillers Tractors Limited and Gabriel India Limited.
The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies as on August 25, 2023 is approximately Rs 308 lakh crore. With this, 155 stocks hit 52-week highs and 15 stocks hit 52-week lows.
