Giving information about the agreement, Information Technology (IT) Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Tuesday that under the recently approved IT Hardware PLI scheme, HP Enterprises has agreed to manufacture advanced types of servers in India.
New Delhi. US hardware maker Hewlett Packard Enterprises (HP) has entered into an initial agreement with VVDN Technologies to manufacture state-of-the-art servers worth $1 billion over the next four-five years. Giving information about the agreement, Information Technology (IT) Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Tuesday that under the recently approved IT Hardware PLI scheme, HP Enterprises has agreed to manufacture advanced types of servers in India.
He said, “HP has signed the first MoU with VVDN Technologies under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. Together the two companies will produce servers worth one billion dollars in the next four-five years. He said that the production of servers under this agreement is likely to start from November this year. Vaishnav expressed happiness that within ten days of the release of the India-US joint statement on co-production and development of technologies, the US hardware maker HP has signed this agreement.
