Himachal Pradesh Economic Review: 6.4 percent growth forecast in 2022-23

According to the economic review presented in the assembly on Thursday by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu, the GDP at constant prices (2011-12) in the financial year 2022-23 has been estimated at Rs 1,34,576 crore.
The gross domestic product (GDP) of Himachal Pradesh is estimated to grow at constant prices by 6.4 per cent or Rs 8,143 crore annually during the financial year 2022-23. The state’s economy was projected to grow at 7.6 per cent in 2021-22 at constant prices. According to the economic review presented in the assembly on Thursday by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu, the GDP at constant prices (2011-12) in the financial year 2022-23 has been estimated at Rs 1,34,576 crore. The preliminary GDP estimate for the financial year 2021-22 is Rs 1,26,433 crore.
Thus, the GDP at current prices is estimated to be Rs 1,95,404 crore in 2022-23 as against Rs 1,76,269 crore in the previous year. Thus an increase in GDP at current prices is estimated at Rs 19,135 crore. According to the survey, the GDP growth at current prices is likely to be 10.9 per cent in 2022-23 as against 13.5 per cent in 2021-22. The Per Capita Income (PCI) is estimated to grow by 10.4 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2,22,227 (at current prices) in FY 2022-23. The unemployment rate in the state is four per cent, while it is 4.1 per cent at the national level.
