Forgetting sorrows, widowed old mothers played Holi of flowers
Radhakund: Destitute mothers played Holi of flowers with Kanhaiya at Maitri Widow Ashram located in Radha Nagar. Widowed mothers showered colors and flowers with Kanhaiya in their colorless life. When Holi filled the colors of happiness in the colorless life, the widowed mothers smiled. Applying gulal on each other’s cheeks and showering flower petals on Kanhaiya, the destitute mothers living in Maitri Widow Ashram played Holi and felt as if they had got the happiness of the whole world.
Breaking the age-old traditions in Maitri Vidhwa Ashram, widow mothers once again celebrated the festival of colors in the ashram. Holi festival has become a memorable event for old mothers. Most of the widow mothers living in the ashram are from West Bengal. They got the happiness of the whole world by playing Holi with Kanhaiya while dancing and singing Krishna hymns.
Rajkumari Dasi of West Bengal living in Maitri Widow Ashram told that our life has become hopeless. The happiness that Holi gave us for a few moments, we will remember it for the whole life. Director of Maitri Vidhwa Ashram, former Journal Bhupendra Singh told that Holi festival is organized every year in the ashram to add color to the happiness and colorless life of widowed mothers.
