Honda’s new SUV Elevate globally unveiled in India

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), a leading premium car maker, today made the global unveil of its new global SUV ‘Honda Elevate’ in India.
Speaking at the unveiling of the new SUV, Toshio Kuwahara, Regional Head (Asia & Oceania), Honda Motor Co. Ltd. and President & CEO, Asian Motor Company Ltd. said that the Elevate will be launched in India during the festive season this year. India will be the first country to manufacture and sell the new SUV Elevate globally. While the initial offering of the Elevate is focused on the domestic market, India aims to serve as an important export hub for the new model in other parts of the world, while meeting the huge demand for SUVs globally.
He added that the Elevate is built on the concept of the ‘Urban Freestyler’. It aims to attract customers with a busy lifestyle and a global mindset with its contemporary design and practicality. At the same time, it will provide an incredibly versatile, comfortable and fun SUV drive experience for those always up for adventure in the city and out on the road. Elevate is a mid-size SUV with aggressive and advanced exterior design comprising of attractive front face, sharp character lines and unique rare design, he said. It gets a distinctive tailgate design and LED taillights at the rear.
Mr. Kuwahara said that the all-new Elevate has been developed by the Honda R&D Asia Pacific Center based in Thailand. The R&D team in India has worked exclusively on understanding the potential target customers through extensive market surveys. The survey reflects three key driving factors for customers to buy an SUV, which include the stylish bold exterior design of the SUV, overt and underwhelming safety and overall comfort during long distance journeys with spacious interiors.
He added, “India being the third largest automotive market in the world is extremely important for Honda. Being the first country to launch the global model, today’s world premiere of the all-new Elevate reaffirms Honda’s commitment to its plans and aspirations for the country. Exports from India are continuously increasing every year in many regions around the world. With a high level of quality standards that exceed the expectation of both local and worldwide customers, India has become one of the most important export centers for Honda to deliver products. As we move towards the year 2050, Honda is striving to achieve carbon neutrality with its motorcycles and automobiles and reduce traffic collision deaths to zero. To achieve this goal, Honda aims to increase the proportion of sales of battery electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles to 100 percent globally, including in India, by 2040.
