‘I agreed with you without saying anything’

In the 1960s, the Hindi film ‘Jab Jab Phool Khile’ released, there was a song in that film ‘Na-Na Karte Pyaar Tumhi Se Kar Baithe, Karna Tha’ Refused but agreed with you. The credit for reviving the memories of this song goes to the alliance between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. The main reason for the existence of Aam Aadmi Party is from Congress. The anti-corruption campaign led by Anna Hazare was in opposition to the then Congress government. Aam Aadmi Party’s leader Arvind Kejriwal has always been the target of Congress since the beginning. But due to political compulsions, today, adopting the policy of enemy of enemy as friend, AAP and Congress decided to fight the Lok Sabha elections unitedly in some states. Considering the current political circumstances, the coming closer of both the parties is a political decision and to some extent it can also be said to be right. Keeping aside their political differences, both the parties have decided to jointly contest the Lok Sabha elections this year in five states. Both the parties will contest elections together in Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Chandigarh and Goa. National General Secretary of Congress Mukul Wasnik said in a press conference on Saturday that in Delhi, AAP has been given New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi and East Delhi seats. Congress will contest from Chandni Chowk, North Western and North Eastern seats. Out of 26 seats in Gujarat, Congress will contest on 24 seats and AAP will contest on two seats – Bharuch and Bhavnagar.

You have been given Kurukshetra seat in Haryana. Congress candidates will contest on the remaining nine seats. Congress will contest on both seats in Goa and one seat in Chandigarh.

Wasnik said that the issue of misuse of investigative agencies is not limited to Arvind Kejriwal alone. To put pressure, BJP has also used ED, CBI and Income Tax Department to go after other opposition leaders. This is a threat to democracy. Not only you and Congress, every person in the country will answer this. AAP’s National Organization General Secretary Dr. Sandeep Pathak said that both the parties have decided to contest elections separately in Punjab. The BJP government is abolishing all the institutions one by one. Votes are being stolen to win elections. Opposition leaders are being put in jail. Injustice is being done to the farmers. The people of the country are struggling with unemployment and inflation. Today the country needs a strong and honest alternative. Keeping this in mind, India will fight elections unitedly in the interest of the country, keeping aside its own small interests. With this alliance, all the election calculations and strategy of BJP will be spoiled.

BJP leaders termed the alliance between Congress and AAP as a ‘swindle’ and described it as full of contradictions. Party spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said that Congress and AAP will contest elections against each other in Punjab while trying to fight together in other states. This is actually ‘thugbandhan’. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari compared AAP and Congress to thief-thief cousins ​​and said that this is what is happening between the two parties. AAP workers are disappointed because Kejriwal, who used to talk about putting Congress leaders in jail, is now at his feet. Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi said that this is knee-jerk politics. There has been an alliance between two parties with zero sum.

In 2013, Kejriwal had released the list of corrupt people, which included Rahul Gandhi and other leaders. Now all the corrupt have become one. The broom was in the hands of Congress earlier and even today. Congress had floated the party and got the Jhadu election symbol allotted to it in violation of the rules.

Looking at the above facts, it can be said that there are no permanent friends and enemies in politics. Only time will tell how voters accept the agreement between AAP and Congress. But the conflict between the two in Punjab will play an important role in giving a new direction to the politics of the state. Multiparty elections for the first time in Punjab are also going to be thrilling. The future of AAP, Congress, Akali Dal, Badal, BJP, BSP and Left parties will depend on the results of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the farmers’ movement will affect the results.
