No form will have to be filled in SBI
State Bank of India (SBI) has clarified that people will not have to fill any form or slip to exchange Rs 2000 note. People can easily exchange the notes by visiting their nearest bank branch. RBI’s banking deposit rules will be followed for depositing notes. In a day people can change 10 notes of 2000 rupees i.e. 20 thousand rupees. People will not have to show any ID to exchange notes. If you deposit more than 50 thousand in the bank account, then you will have to show PAN, Aadhaar card.
How to change notes in Canara Bank
If you go to Canara Bank to change 2 thousand note, then you can easily change it. 10 notes of 2 thousand can be changed in a day. People who have an account with Canara Bank can change or deposit in the account without showing any identity card or PAN card, Aadhaar card. But if your bank account is not in Canara Bank then you have to follow KYC rules. That is, you will have to show your ID card. Its purpose is simply that banks can keep a record of who has exchanged notes.
