In the notice issued by the Income Tax Department, they have advised all PAN card holders who do not come under the exemption category to link their PAN card with Aadhaar card as soon as possible. The department has asked everyone to get this work done before March 31. Along with this, he has further said that if this is not done, then from April 1, all those PAN cards which have not been linked with the Aadhaar card will become inactive.
As per Income-tax Act, 1961, it is mandatory for all PAN holders, who do not fall under the exempt category, to link their PAN with Aadhaar before 31.3.2023.

Link can be done by paying penalty
If you want, you can still get your PAN card linked with Aadhaar card. But, for this you will also have to pay the penalty. If you link these two between July 1 and March 31, then you will have to pay Rs 1,000. But, if you do not link your PAN card with Aadhaar card even by 31st March, then your PAN card will be of no use.

If you want, you can link your PAN card with Aadhaar card sitting at home. You do not need to do much for this. To link, first open the e-filing portal of Income Tax Department www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/ on your browser. After this you will see the option of quick links. By clicking on it, you have to click on the Link Aadhaar option. You can link both by entering PAN and Aadhaar card number.
