Tripathi, who is playing the role of India’s chief negotiator for negotiating the FTA with the European Union, said, “I would not say that we are anxious about it but this announcement is giving us a little worry.” Five-six such areas are coming under its ambit which are important for Indian industries and supply chains.
Apart from this, there are some apprehensions about the ‘Green Deal’ provision being brought by the European Union. In this law, it has been said to impose restrictions related to deforestation on some areas. On this, Tripathi said, “Such steps are being taken that we may also need to change our approach regarding the FTA.” He said that both sides need to look at the trade deal from a practical perspective. Is. With this he said, “We should not miss this opportunity.” This is the right time for both the parties to seize the opportunity.
