As a country, we are fortunate to see more positives than negatives. The best thing for India is that we have political stability and I don’t see any hindrance in this even in 2024.
New Delhi. India is one of the fastest growing major economies amid global uncertainties and hence the whole world is watching India. Renowned banker Deepak Parekh said this on Saturday. He said that India has been helped by its strong consumption.
He said that India is not untouched by global disruptions, hence the growth has slowed down a bit. But India is a domestic consumption-based economy, and is less dependent on the global economy than countries that are heavily dependent on exports. Speaking at the conclave, HDFC Ltd Chairman Parekh said, “As a country, we are fortunate to see more positives than negatives.
The best thing for India is that we have political stability and I don’t see any hindrance in this even in 2024. He said the Indian banking and financial system is now in a very strong position and is well capitalised, bad loans are now very low and the system is tightly regulated. Parekh said the government is doing its best to position the country as a global manufacturing hub and the country has aligned itself with the goals of decarbonizing the Indian economy in a systematic manner.
