India slips to the bottom of the Global Startup Index, Czech Republic on top

Singapore : In a recent study conducted by Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based website Business Name Generator (BNG), India has been placed near the bottom of the Global Startup Index as a challenging country to start a startup. According to media reports, the AI-based website took into account business tax rates, GDP growth, cost of startup processes, among other criteria, to determine attractive destinations for starting businesses, to prepare the Global Startup Index. Analysis has been done on about 50 countries.
What is the standard of rating
According to media reports, the AI-based BNG has also included the population, average monthly salary, gross domestic product (GDP) and per capita gross domestic product (GDP) of each country in its study. In addition, Happiness Score, Cost of Living and Quality of Life were factored into the calculation of the final index score to determine which countries the most satisfied employees reside in. The study reports that employee satisfaction helps in productivity and growth.
Czech Republic number one in top 10
Media reports said that based on the study of BNG, all European countries have been included in the list of top 10 countries to start startups in the year 2023. The Czech Republic, which is included in the emerging economy, is on top of this list. Along with this, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Slovakia have made it to the top 5.
Why Czech Republic became number one
Media reports say that Nordic countries are generally doing well in surveys that focus on the quality of life happiness index. It is no surprise that two of them are in the top 5. Furthermore, Europe is attracting tech talent by introducing digital visas and remote working schemes. Czech Republic has emerged as the best country to start a startup in the study. However, it is to be noted that the quality of life score is the lowest among the top 10 countries.
India included in challenging countries
The study report states that many countries in Asia are among the top five most challenging countries to launch a successful startup. This includes the Philippines, Egypt, India, South Korea and Vietnam. India and South Korea have been placed at the lowest level in the Global Startup Index. The surprising thing is that South Korea has been placed at the bottom of this Global Startup Index, which is known all over the world for its hi-tech hub and its innovation.
