IndiaAI Mission: Know about the seven key pillars

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Amid privacy concerns in artificial intelligence (AI) industries, the Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the national-level IndiaAI Mission with a budget outlay of Rs 10,371.92 crore.

By democratizing computing access, improving data quality, developing indigenous AI capabilities, attracting top AI talent, enabling industry collaboration, providing startup risk capital, ensuring socially impactful AI projects, and ethical AI. The Mission will promote responsible inclusive growth of India’s AI ecosystem by strengthening AI. ,

The IT ministry said the mission will be implemented by the ‘IndiaAI’ Independent Business Division (IBD) under Digital India Corporation (DIC).

Let us see what the Mission has to offer with seven key initiatives:

The Safe and Trustworthy AI pillar will enable the implementation of ‘Responsible AI’ projects, including development of indigenous tools and frameworks, self-assessment checklist for innovators and other guidelines and governance frameworks.

The ‘FutureSkills’ initiative is conceptualized to reduce the barriers to entry into AI programs and will increase AI courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate level and PhD programmes.

The ministry said data and AI labs will be set up in tier 2 and 3 cities across the country to provide basic level courses.

The IndiaAI Compute pillar will build a high-end scalable AI computing ecosystem to meet the growing demands of India’s fast-growing AI startup and research ecosystem.

This ecosystem will include AI compute infrastructure of 10,000 or more graphics processing units (GPUs) built through public-private partnerships.

“The AI ​​Marketplace will be designed to offer AI as a service and pre-trained models to AI innovators. According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, it will act as a one-stop solution for critical resources for AI innovation.

The next component is the IndiaAI Innovation Centre, which will undertake the development and deployment of indigenous large multimodal models (LMM) and domain-specific fundamental models in critical areas.

Another key aspect of the mission is the IndiaAI Dataset Platform, which will streamline access to quality non-personal datasets for AI innovation. An integrated data platform will be developed to provide Indian startups and researchers a one-stop solution for seamless access to non-personal datasets.

The IndiaAI Application Development Initiative will promote AI experiments in critical areas based on problem statements received from central ministries, state departments and other institutions.

“This initiative will focus on developing/scaling/promoting adoption of impactful AI solutions that have the potential to catalyze socio-economic transformation on a large scale,” the ministry said.

Last but not least, the ‘IndiaAI Startup Financing’ pillar is envisioned to support and accelerate deep-tech AI startups and provide them streamlined access to funding to enable future AI projects, the government said. Is.
