Indian Railways: In the year 2022, more than 1500 cases of stone pelting on running trains have been registered across the country. At the same time, more than 400 people have been arrested in such cases. Giving information about this on Wednesday, the Railways said that Vande Bharat trains have also been damaged due to stone pelting.

Vande Bharat coaches were pelted with stones in Visakhapatnam

Let us tell that earlier this month, stones were pelted at the coaches of the Vande Bharat train at Visakhapatnam railway station in Kancharapalem area, in which many glasses of the train were broken. In the year 2022, 1503 cases of stone pelting on moving trains were registered by the Railway Protection Force and 488 people were arrested, the Railways said in a statement highlighting the year-long achievements of the RPF. Several awareness campaigns are being conducted by RPF through various mediums to educate the residents near railway tracks. During this, more than 100 persons carrying inflammable substances or firecrackers in trains were also arrested.

Cases of stone pelting on Vande Bharat remained in headlines

Railways said that many incidents of stone pelting on other trains are not reported. Cases of stone pelting on the indigenously built Vande Bharat have been widely in the news. Soon after the first such train started, stones were pelted in Tundla, Uttar Pradesh. Stones were pelted on the train near Sadar here and during this the window panes of a coach were damaged. Railways is taking the help of RPF to convince the local people.

RPF saved the lives of 852 passengers

The Railways said in a statement on Wednesday that the RPF has rescued over 17,500 children from railway premises and 559 people from the clutches of smugglers so far this year. It states that under Operation Nanhe Farishtey, the RPF identifies and rescues children who are lost or separated from their families due to various reasons. RPF also saved the lives of 852 passengers who slipped while boarding the trains. The RPF also handed over 5,749 criminals involved in crimes to the GRP or the police. Among them, there are 82 drug addicts, 30 dacoits, 380 robbers, 2628 thieves and 93 people involved in crimes against women.
