Dibrugarh. An IndiGo flight bound for Dibrugarh was forced to land in Guwahati on Sunday morning following engine failure. The officers provided this information. He said that flight number 6E-2652 had about 150 passengers including Union Minister of State for Petroleum Rameshwar Teli and two Assam MLAs – Prashant Phukan and Terash Gowala. Teli told PTI that around 15-20 minutes before the plane was to land, an announcement was made that the flight had been diverted. He said, “Initially we got scared and got apprehensive as to why the flight could not land at Dibrugarh airport. It was taken to Guwahati. The pilot then announced that due to technical engine failure, they needed a longer runway to land.”
Teli said, “We were asked to sit on the seat while he was fixing the fault. After two hours it was announced that the flight could not take off and then it was cancelled.” The Union Minister said that he had to attend three meetings, but due to the cancellation of the flight, he could not attend the meetings. He said, “I asked the Indigo administration to arrange an alternate flight from Kolkata, but they did not do so. I will report this to the aviation minister.” Officials said that the fault in the aircraft is being traced at the Guwahati airport. He said alternate arrangements had been made for the passengers.
