New Delhi: Info Edge (India) Ltd on Saturday said its mobile app has been removed from the Google Play Store. These include Naukri.com, 99 acres.com and Shiksha.com. A day before this, Google had started removing some popular apps including other apps from its Play Store in India over the dispute over service charge payment.
Google had said that 10 companies in the country, including many well-known firms, have not paid the fees despite making profits from the Play Store. Info Edge (India) Limited told the stock market, “Google has removed the company’s mobile applications (Naukri.com, Naukri Recruiter, NaukriGulf Job Search App, 99Acres.com) from the Google Play Store.
Info Edge reported that apps of some other companies have also been removed. In the information given to the stock market, it has been said that this action is a surprise for the company because Google did this without giving proper notice. Info Edge clarified that users who already have its mobile apps downloaded on their mobile devices,
They can continue using them. Apart from this, there will be no problem in using the app through other platforms (like Apple App Store). Info Edge said that it is working with Google in this regard, so that the company’s mobile app can be restored on Google Play Store as soon as possible.
