InterGlobe Aviation, SpiceJet also included in companies buying Electoral Bonds

New Delhi. InterGlobe Aviation and SpiceJet have been among the companies buying electoral bonds. The Election Commission has put the details related to electoral bonds on its website late Thursday evening. These data reveal that three InterGlobe entities had purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 36 crore. InterGlobe Aviation, the company that operates the country’s largest airline IndiGo, had purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 5 crore on October 4, 2023.
According to the data, InterGlobe Air Transport bought electoral bonds worth Rs 11 crore while InterGlobe Real Estate Ventures bought bonds worth Rs 20 crore. Both the entities purchased the bonds on May 10, 2019. Apart from this, the promoter company of Indigo had purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 20 crore on April 7, 2021.
The data shows that SpiceJet purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 65 lakh on three separate occasions. SpiceJet purchased these bonds on January 8, 2021, April 9, 2021 and July 9, 2021. There was no immediate response to this information from InterGlobe and SpiceJet.
