Interview: The Purvanchal Files is not about Atiq Ahmed, it is the story of Bahubali culture and political alliance: Abhijeet Sinha

The film ‘The Purvanchal File’, releasing on 22nd September, is in the news. Actually, the story itself has been constructed like this. How much injustice is done to the victims in the nexus of politics and law and order. Efforts have been made to depict the same in a new and different way in the film. The film also stars actor Abhijeet Sinha, who is known for his powerful roles in the police department. He had a detailed conversation with journalist Dr. Ramesh Thakur regarding the film. Here are the highlights of the conversation.

Question: On which subject is ‘The Purvanchal File’ based?

Answer – ‘The Purvanchal Files’ is a powerful film based on a fictional story in which the audience will be shown the Bahubali culture spread in the Purvanchal districts of Uttar Pradesh, or rather politics, through making fun of law and order, exploiting the victims, openly torturing, The fight of an honest police officer against misbehavior and injustice is shown. Purvanchal File is the story of resistance against all the evils. Would it not be wrong if we call the film basically a Bollywood romantic and inspired film?

Question: There are discussions that the film is related to the story of Atiq Ahmed?

Answer: No at all? The story definitely matches with Atiq Ahmed’s story? But actually this film has nothing to do with his story? The theme of the film revolves around the audience so they will definitely like it. There are many reasons to like it. First of all, its story will be seen revolving around real events. In Police Story, good films like Singham and Gangaajal were liked by the audience and also inspired people. More or less, the same glimpse will be seen in this film also.

Question: Like South films, has spice been added to it too?

Answer- Look, there is no doubt that the craze for South movies has increased in Hindi films? Yes, we can say that the audience will get a glimpse of the same kind of film making in Purvanchal File. Because the lead hero is Siddharth who is a big name of South. Director Swaroop Ghosh has worked very hard. Right from casting, he has focused on each and every scene. He also did research on this topic for a long time.

Question: Who is the director and who are the actors?

Answer- Purvanchal File is made under the direction of famous director Swaroop Ghosh, who has left a mark of his talent on Bengali cinema. As far as the cast is concerned, the film is adorned with experienced actors. Tremendous performances will be seen from senior artists like Mukesh Tiwari, Zarina Wahab, Govind Namdev, Hemant Pandey, Amita Nangia and Alok Verma. The songs of the film are also good.

Question: What is your role in the film?

Answer- My character is as a negative police inspector Sharma. Who, while working in the police, gets mixed into the political system and gets trapped in the quagmire of corruption in the company of powerful leaders and big officers. To prove his loyalty, he is ready to kill anyone. However, this is the first time I am playing a negative role in a film. He has played negative roles many times on the small screen.

Question: After the Kashmir file, there was a trend that most of the films started being made on past events only?

Answer- Yes, but this is not a movie on any controversial incident nor is it a propaganda film. It will not hurt any state, caste or person. This is a Bollywood masala commercial film which has been made keeping in mind only the entertainment of the people. Does this have anything to do with Kashmir files?

Question: Tell us something about where the film was shot, location etc.?

Answer- Some parts of the film have been shot in Mumbai itself. Most of the rest of the film was shot in the areas where the incidents took place, such as Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh and small towns and cities around there. All the scenes are wonderful and full of entertainment. Suspense, drama, light comedy, action and good songs have been used in the film.
