BCCI issued statement

BCCI had issued an official statement at the beginning of last week saying that Ishan Kishan had cited personal reasons for being out of the competition. Therefore the selectors included KS Bharat in the team as his replacement. According to a report in the Indian Express, Ishaan has decided to take a break due to mental fatigue due to lack of adequate time between continuous traveling and sports.

Ishaan has been playing continuously for a year

The report also said that the wicketkeeper-batsman has been traveling continuously for games for the last one year. He had requested the Indian team management last week for a break from cricket. This was also discussed with the selectors. The team management agreed and he was given a break from the Test series. Ishaan can now make a comeback in the home series against Afghanistan.

This year has been nothing special for Ishaan
