After Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor has also got protection for his personality rights. The actor had moved the Delhi High Court seeking protection of his name, voice, signature and image rights against infringement on social media and other platforms.
The Delhi High Court on September 20 passed an interim John Doe order restraining social media channels, e-commerce websites and the public at large from infringing on Anil Kapoor’s personality and publicity rights.
The court ordered that unauthorized platforms cannot be allowed to illegally use Anil Kapoor’s name, voice, image or dialogues for commercial purposes.
The court says that his name, voice and image cannot be allowed to be used illegally, that too for commercial purposes.
The court also directed Godaddy.com LLC, Dynadot LLC and PDR Limited to immediately block and suspend domains like Anilkapoor.com and others.
Let us tell you that the bench of Justice Prathiba M Singh heard the case related to the personality rights of the actor.
Talking about the work front, Anil Kapoor is preparing for his upcoming film ‘Fighter’ with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The film, directed by Siddharth Ananad, will be released in theaters on Republic Day, 2024.
Apart from this, Anil is also shooting for the film ‘Thank You Coming’. In which Bhumi Pednekar, Shahnaz Gill, Dolly Singh and others are in lead roles.
Anil has acted in more than 100 films in his career spanning 4 decades. He rose to fame with films like Mashaal, Karma, Mr. India, Tezaab, Ram Lakhan and Lamhe.
