New Delhi (Best Hindu News): Actress Jacqueline Fernandes, accused in a money laundering case of about 200 crores, filed a fresh application in Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Wednesday to go to Dubai. Jacqueline has applied to travel to Dubai from January 27 to 30 to attend the PepsiCo India Conference.
However, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sought time to file its reply in the matter. The court listed the matter for further hearing on January 27. Earlier, on January 29, Jacqueline Fernandes had applied for permission to go to Dubai for a day, which was withdrawn.
Additional Sessions Judge Shailendra Malik on Monday granted a day’s exemption to the actress from personal appearance. The judge was to hear arguments on framing of charges in the case but adjourned the hearing to February 15. Fernandes was also allowed to travel abroad in December last year to visit his ailing mother in Bahrain. But, it was withdrawn as the court was not ready to allow him to travel abroad.
Chandrasekhar is accused of extorting money from politicians, celebrities and businessmen and allegedly duping Aditi Singh, wife of Shivinder Mohan Singh, former owner of pharma company Ranbaxy, to the tune of Rs 200 crore. He had sent very expensive gifts to Jacqueline. He had also booked a chartered flight from Mumbai to Chennai for the actress during her bail period. Moreover, according to the ED, Sukesh sent a major part of the recovery to the actress.
