Mumbai | ‘Dil Mil Gaye’ actor Sehban Azim has been roped in for the web series ‘Dear Ishq’ and the actor talks about playing the role of a writer Abhimanyu Razdan on screen and how he took inspiration from the book as well as his personal life. The show is a web adaptation of Ravinder Singh’s book ‘Write Me A Love Story’ and it is a story of two persons who are complete opposites but gradually they start liking each other.
He said, “I have taken a lot of inspiration from Ravinder Singh, the author of the book. Abhimanyu Razdan is a popular fiction writer and so is Ravinder Singh. We discussed the character in great detail, where I came to know that the character who is in real life. I am very different from him.”
He spoke about his preparation for the character and for this he also watched Korean dramas.
The actor further added, “I also came to know that they were trying to bring the spirit of Korean dramas to highlight the romance, but I had only heard about them and not really seen anything. So, I Also watched Korean dramas.”
‘Dear Ishq’ is a love story between a bestselling author and an editor. It has Sehban Azim as writer, Abhimanyu Razdan and Niyati Fatnani, Asmita Roy as editors.
Apart from the main characters, it also stars Kunal Verma, Vikas Grover, Kishwar Merchant, Jyoti B. Banerjee, Punit Tejwani, Roma Bali, Bina Mukherjee and Baneet Kapoor are also there.
Directed by Atif Khan and produced by Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik, the show is set to premiere on January 26 on Disney Plus Hotstar.
