The Akhilesh Yadav episode has once again proved that the duo of two former Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh, seems to be overpowering the Congress high command. Before moving ahead, let us remind you that due to this pairing of Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was closest to Rahul Gandhi and who met Rahul Gandhi directly without any appointment, was also forced to leave Congress and join BJP along with his supporting MLAs. At that time also it was said that whatever Rahul Gandhi says or promises in Delhi, in Madhya Pradesh the then Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his partner Digvijay Singh implement it by twisting it as per their own.

Something similar seems to be happening in the Akhilesh Yadav case also. The Congress, which is desperate to defeat Narendra Modi at any cost in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and remove him from the post of Prime Minister, or rather, the Congress high command, kept aside all its differences and accepted to sit with many opposition parties. However, Congress had started opposition unity to defeat BJP in Maharashtra long before the formation of India Alliance, when the Gandhi family, at the behest of Sharad Pawar, had accepted the appointment of Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray as the Chief Minister. Shiv Sena used to attack the Congress high command i.e. the Gandhi family more directly than the Congress. Later, when Nitish Kumar started uniting the opposition parties at the behest of the Congress, the Congress high command showed great heart by ignoring the demands of its state leaders, even its leader in the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary. Also agreed to sit with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on whom West Bengal’s own Congress leaders keep accusing that her government is even getting Congress workers killed in Bengal. The Gandhi family even accepted to sit with Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, who used to curse the Gandhi family during the Kejriwal Saheb Anna movement and whose party not only wiped out the Congress in Punjab and brought it to power. Not only did he throw Congress out of Delhi, it not only created a crisis for the existence of Congress in Delhi but also brought Congress to the brink of its biggest defeat by contesting elections in Gujarat. Now Kejriwal is not stopping here but is also contesting the upcoming assembly elections of five states with all his might.

There are many parties included in the opposition alliance with whom Congress’ relations have sometimes been sour and sometimes sweet, but in the name of defeating BJP, Congress has accepted to sit with all these parties and even compromise on seats. But the pair of two former Chief Ministers of Congress has raised a big question mark on the future of the opposition alliance by angering Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh Yadav is claiming that Congress had promised to give 6 seats to SP in Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections but later reneged. When Kamal Nath was asked a question about this, he was seen saying in a very light manner, “Hey brother, leave Akhilesh-Vakhilesh”. Now think for yourself that the national president of a party whose party is most powerful in Uttar Pradesh from where it elects 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha and with whom Congress has once fought the elections in alliance. Using such language about the national president of that party simply means that you are seen spoiling the hard work of the national high command of your own party because it is important to keep in mind that Initially Akhilesh Yadav did not want to join this alliance but on the insistence of Congress, Nitish Kumar repeatedly contacted Akhilesh Yadav and with great difficulty Akhilesh Yadav agreed to join this alliance and in such a situation in Madhya Pradesh 6 Or maybe SP could have been persuaded by giving three or four seats, but the way it was treated and the comments made after that have created a sourness between the two parties and now SP has won Madhya Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav has shown his attitude by fielding his candidates on 22 assembly seats and along with this, Akhilesh Yadav has also said that the way Congress is behaving with SP in Madhya Pradesh, the same behavior will be done by SP in Uttar Pradesh. Will work with the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections and when there will be talk of distribution of seats in Uttar Pradesh at the time of Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party will think what to do, meaning Akhilesh has directly threatened the Congress.

Digvijay Singh has been the National General Secretary of Congress and has also been in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. Digvijay Singh is well aware of the role of 80 Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections and despite losing the elections, SP has its own existence in Uttar Pradesh and by rejecting SP, Modi government in Uttar Pradesh. A strong opposition alliance cannot be formed against Akhilesh, but along with Kamal Nath, he has ruined all the hard work of the high command and now even if Akhilesh contests the Lok Sabha elections next year with the India alliance, then many questions will be asked of him. Will also be asked because as Akhilesh himself has said that BJP is an organized party, then BJP has started circulating and spreading the conflicting statements of UP Congress State President Ajay Rai, Madhya Pradesh Chief Ministerial candidate Kamal Nath and Akhilesh Yadav on social media.
