Karisma Kapoor was very upset after breaking her engagement with Abhishek Bachchan, the director of her last film revealed.

Film director Dharmesh Darshan recently shared his experience of making Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor’s last film ‘Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya’ together.

Speaking with Lehren Retro, Darshan recalled that Karisma looked ‘distracted’ during the filming as she and Abhishek had recently separated. Both of them were engaged earlier but they separated during the film.

The director also said that making the film was a mistake, although Jaya Bachchan liked the film, unlike Amitabh Bachchan, who had expressed his disapproval about the film and called it ‘old-fashioned’. Dharmesh said, “This is not a film I should have done. This is one of their films which directors hand over to their assistants… This was the first and last time Abhishek and Karisma did a film together. Abhishek is a very sweet boy, but this is not the same Lolo that I saw during Raja Hindustani.” Dharmesh had earlier worked with Karishma in Raja Hindustani.

Dharmesh Darshan speaks on Big B’s negative comment on the film

Recalling Big B’s negative comments about the film, the filmmaker shared, “Yes, he said so (called it old-fashioned). But Jaya ji loved the film, strangely. She loved that girl. Liked the aggression that says you have a one-night stand, I’m divorcing you. She liked that.”

Abhishek is married to Aishwarya Rai and has a daughter, Aaradhya. Both of them got married in 2007. Karisma married businessman Sanjay Kapoor. The couple separated in 2014.
