New Delhi. Bikarnewala is a very popular sweets and namkeen chain in India. Bikarnewala founder Lala Kedarnath Agarwal has passed away at the age of 86. He breathed his last on 13 November. Kedarnath Aggarwal, popularly known as Kakaji, started his business by selling Bhujia and Rasgullas in baskets in Old Delhi. After this, he worked hard continuously and achieved great heights by working with dedication.
Regarding the demise of Lala Kedarnath Agarwal, Bikanerwala said in the statement that with the demise of Agarwal, popularly known as ‘Kakaji’, an era has come to an end, which has enriched the taste and made its place in the lives of countless people. ‘ Let us tell you that currently Bikanerwala has more than 60 shops in the country. Bikanerwala’s empire is present not only in India but also in countries like America, New Zealand, Singapore, Nepal and United Arab Emirates (UAE).
After the founder’s demise, group managing director Shyam Sundar Agarwal said, “Kakaji’s passing is not just a loss for Bikanerwala; It’s a void in the culinary landscape. His vision and leadership will always guide our culinary journey.” Kedarnath Aggarwal started his business journey from Delhi. Hailing from Bikaner, his family owned a sweet shop in the streets of the city since 1905.
The name of that shop was Bikaner Namkeen Bhandar and they sold some types of sweets and namkeen. Agarwal moved to Delhi with his brother Satyanarayan Agarwal in the early 1950s with big ambitions. He had brought his family’s medicine. In the beginning, both the brothers used to carry buckets full of Bhujia and Rasgulla and sell them on the streets of Old Delhi. However, the hard work of the Agarwal brothers and the unique flavor of Bikaner soon gained recognition and acceptance among the people of Delhi. After this, the Agarwal brothers started a shop in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, where they adopted their family recipe, which is now being passed down from generation to generation.
Let us tell you that the Bikanerwala brand was launched in the year 1998, after which Bikano was also brought in the market. The company continued to expand and offer great flavors to its customers, which were greatly appreciated by the customers. In the year 2003, Bikano company opened chat cafes and started fast food service restaurants.
