Mumbai | Late actor-director Satish Kaushik will soon be seen in one of his last films, ‘Mirg’, which is all set for release after completing the post-production work. The film stars Raj Babbar, Anup Soni and Shwetabh Singh in lead roles. The film is centered around the legend of the mountain leopard popular in the lowlands of Himachal Pradesh.
Talking about the film, director Tarun Sharma said: My main objective while approaching ‘Marg’ was to give the audience an engaging film. Every aspect of filmmaking must come together to create something compelling, to transport people to an alternate reality.
It is the magic of cinema for me. I have been blessed with an amazing and involved team. It was a blessing to have veterans like Raj Babbar, Satish Kaushik and Anoop Soni in my first film. The director shared that Sathish was the first to come on board and the actor agreed to do the film within two hours of sending the script.
Tarun said- Till today I cannot believe that he is no more. His childhood passion for cinema is something I will never forget. I really wanted him to see it but it is a feeling that will be unfulfilled with regret. I must also add that Shwetabh gave a breakthrough performance standing in front of such senior actors.
Commenting on the film, Raj Babbar said: I thoroughly enjoyed shooting for this film. we have a lot of fun. Tarun is a brilliant director. He really gives his actors a free hand to interpret the characters in their own way. This technique connects you more with the character and you develop a sense of responsibility to really do justice to it. Each and every actor in this film has given a fine performance.
‘Marg’ is bankrolled by UK-based Studio RA and produced by Rishi Anand, Nama Productions and OneShot Films. The film has been shot in Himachal Pradesh, mainly in Una, Hamirpur and Gobind Sagar Lake.
