Ludhiana: Jewelers are losing sleep due to the continuous increase in gold prices. With the opening of the market on Monday, the price of gold (24 carat) also touched the figure of Rs 73000 (per tola). For the last 15 days, gold prices have been touching the highest level every day.
If it is said that till now the prices of gold have never increased so much simultaneously, then it would not be wrong to say so. In the last 15 days, gold prices have continuously increased by Rs 6000 per tola. Secondly, the most important thing is that neither the wedding season nor the festival season is going on at this time. After this, there is no emergency anywhere in the world. Jewelers are not able to understand the reason for this increase.
Ludhiana Jewelers Association President Anand Sikri says that the prices of gold are increasing every day. But no one is able to understand what is the reason for the increase. Since Diwali, the price of gold has increased by approximately Rs 15,000 per tola. Generally such increase is seen during Diwali, Dhanteras and Akshaya Tritiya.
Gopal Bhandari, President of Ludhiana Goldsmiths Association (Regd.) says that at present there is a serious recession in the market and due to the daily increase in gold prices, customers have completely moved away from the market. It is being told that after the elections the prices may fall suddenly. If this happens, the confidence of customers in gold will be completely lost.
