Indore: With the aim of expanding 5G network rapidly in Madhya Pradesh, the state government has introduced its policy. In this policy, special emphasis has been laid on giving government approvals to telecom service providers, internet service providers and infrastructure companies for expansion of 5G services at the earliest. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. State Science and Technology Minister Omprakash Saklecha told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ in Indore, “We want the 5G network to spread rapidly in the state.
For this we have introduced 5G policy. This policy will help the companies concerned in developing the infrastructure of 5G services. He said that provision has been made in the 5G policy that if the telecom service providers, internet service providers and companies developing infrastructure do not get government approval within the stipulated time frame, then it will be assumed that they have got this green signal.
Sakhalecha said, “I think 5G network will be available in the entire state within one and a half to two years. Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC) Managing Director Abhijit Agarwal said that the state’s 5G policy has been prepared on the basis of the guidelines of the central government and suggestions from the industry. Aggarwal said that this policy will lead to rapid expansion of 5G network in the next six months, especially in urban areas.
The applications of telecom service providers, internet service providers and infrastructure companies for setting up 5G network infrastructure on government land or property will be disposed of by the licensing authority within 60 days, while private applications, the officials said, citing the policy. In case of land or property, such applications will be decided within just three days. He said that if these applications are not disposed of within the stipulated time, then it will be assumed that the applicants have got the relevant approvals and the license will also be issued in their names on the prescribed portal.
