Madras High Court bans the release of pirated version of Vijay starrer Leo.

Chennai. The Madras High Court on Wednesday banned the online illegal release of the pirated version of superstar Vijay’s film ‘Leo’.

The film’s producer Seven Screen Studios has moved the Madras High Court to stop the screening of pirated versions of the film and has requested the court to stop internet service providers from taking action against such releases.

Madras High Court Judge Abdul Quddos directed a ban on pirated versions of the film and also directed Internet service providers to ensure that pirated versions are not displayed through their sites.

Advocate Vijay Subramaniam, appearing for Seven Screen Studios, had earlier mentioned in the court that the budget of the film was high. If the pirated version is released, it will cause huge loss to the producers of the film.

He also said that there were around 1,200 websites and if the pirated version was released, the film would be released worldwide and the film would get very little audience due to the illegal release.
