The biggest thing is that Mahindra Thar is available in the ex-showroom at a starting price of Rs 10 lakh. However, the price of its top model is Rs 16.94 lakh.
Mahindra Thar color options
Mahindra & Mahindra launched the second generation of Thar in October 2020, almost a decade after its launch in the Indian market. In size, this new off-road Thar looks bigger, better and more modern than ever before. It is available in 6 color options Rocky Beige, Aquamarine, Mystic Cooper, Red Rage, Napoli Black and Galaxy Grey.
Mahindra Thar Variants
Mahindra Thar is available in two trims of AX Optional and LX. Mahindra is offering factory-fitted convertible top and hard top options in it. The LX trim has 18-inch alloy wheels. At the same time, 16-inch alloy wheels have been added to the AX option. The double doors can be removed when off-road.
Mahindra Thar Safety Features and Exterior
Mahindra Thar has features like electronic driveline disconnect on the front axle, mechanical and brake locking differential, TPMS, ESP with rollover mitigation, roll cage, dual airbags, snow chain facility for tires and BlueSense app connectivity. Apart from this, talking about its exterior, the exterior of the new Mahindra Thar comes with a multi-slat grille, round headlamps, integrated turn indicators on the fenders, imported LED taillights, fog lights, 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels and dual-tone alloy wheels. Bumpers are present. Thar is being offered in hard-top, soft-top and convertible-top body styles.
Mahindra Thar Interior
Mahindra has also made major changes in the interior of Thar and now it can be completely washed with the facility of draining. Thar has a completely new cabin like a modern hatchback or sedan. It has a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. Along with this, manual gearbox has been added to the four wheel drive system.
Mahindra Thar Engine
The new Thar has a 1,997 cc turbocharged petrol engine, which is capable of generating 150 bhp power at 5,000 rpm and 300 Nm torque between 1,250 to 3,000 rpm. Six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox has been added to it. At the same time, with automatic gearbox it generates torque of 320 Nm between 1,500 to 3,000 rpm. Apart from this, it has a new 2,184 cc mHawk diesel engine, which generates power of 130 bhp at 3,750 rpm and torque of 300 Nm between 1,600 to 2,800 rpm.
