New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): Meta-owned WhatsApp on Thursday announced the feature to log in to two WhatsApp accounts at the same time. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a post that WhatsApp users can soon log into two WhatsApp accounts at the same time.
Switch between two accounts on WhatsApp, he announced. Soon you will be able to have two WhatsApp accounts on one phone within the app. This feature will roll out to Android users in the coming weeks and months.
“Now you don’t have to worry about logging out every time, carrying two phones, or getting messages from the wrong place,” the company said.
To create a second account you’ll need a second phone number and SIM card, or a phone that accepts multi-SIM or eSIM. Simply open your WhatsApp settings, click on the arrow next to your name and click “Add Account”.
According to the company, you can control your privacy and notification settings on each account.
The Meta-owned platform has advised users to only use official WhatsApp and not download fake versions to add more accounts on their phones. It said that users’ messages are secure and private only when using official WhatsApp.
WhatsApp had earlier this week announced the launch of support for the password-less Passkey feature for all Android users. The move will help WhatsApp users on Android say goodbye to insecure and even annoying two-factor SMS authentication.
Android users can log in easily and securely with a passkey, the company posted on X (formerly Twitter). Only your face, fingerprint or PIN unlocks your WhatsApp account. According to the company, Android support will start rolling out in the coming weeks and months. Passkeys can replace traditional passwords with your device’s own authentication methods.
