Market Update: Rupee rises by nine paise at 83.10 per dollar in early trade

The rupee rose to 83.09 per dollar after opening at 83.13 in the interbank foreign exchange market. It later stood at 83.10 per dollar, an increase of nine paise over its previous close. The rupee had closed at 83.19 per dollar on Thursday.
The rupee rose by nine paise to 83.10 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday in the interbank foreign exchange market. Foreign traders said the rupee’s gains were limited due to continuous withdrawal of foreign funds and rise in crude oil prices.
The rupee rose to 83.09 per dollar after opening at 83.13 in the interbank foreign exchange market. It later stood at 83.10 per dollar, an increase of nine paise over its previous close. The rupee had closed at 83.19 per dollar on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the US dollar’s position against six major currencies, was down 0.19 per cent at 106.02. Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.05 per cent higher at $95.43 per barrel.
