New Delhi : Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday said it has recalled 17,362 vehicles of Alto K10, Brezza and Baleno models to check and replace faulty airbags. The country’s largest carmaker told the stock market that the affected models are Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno and Grand Vitara. These are made between 8 December 2022 to 12 January 2023.
The company said, “The airbag controller in these vehicles is being recalled free of cost for inspection and replacement, if required.” Maruti Suzuki said it is suspected that there is a defect in the affected part, resulting in In some cases, the airbag and seat belt pretensioner may not function properly in the event of a vehicle accident. The statement also said that customers of the suspected vehicles are advised not to drive the vehicle using extreme caution until the affected part is replaced.
