Meeting of G20 Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governor to discuss common challenges

New Delhi. The G20 finance ministers and central bank governors are meeting in Bengaluru later this month. The agenda of the meeting included strengthening multilateral development banks (MDBs) to address the common global challenges of the 21st century and strong, inclusive and sustainable financing for the ‘cities of the future’.
The Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting under the G20 chairmanship of India is to be held on February 24-25. The meeting will be chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and co-chaired by Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das. The G20 FMCBG meeting will be preceded by a G20 Deputy Chiefs of Finance and Central Banks (FCBD) meeting on 22 February.
The meeting will be co-chaired by Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth and RBI Deputy Governor Michael D. Patra. The FMCBG meeting will be attended by finance ministers and central bank governors of G20 member states, invitees and heads of international organizations. Altogether a 72-member delegation will participate in the meeting. Under the chairmanship of India, the agenda of this meeting has been prepared in such a way that there can be better exchange of views between ministers and governors on some of the major global issues. The meeting, to be held on February 24-25, will have three sessions, including Strengthening Multilateral Development Banks to Address Common Global Challenges of the 21st Century, Strong, Inclusive and Sustainable Financing for Cities of the Future, Digital Public Infrastructure Issues like availing will be discussed.
