Mid Day Market: Stock market fell after a strong start. Loktej Business News

New Delhi, 20 January (HS). Today the domestic stock market is trading at a flat level amidst ups and downs. Today’s trading started on a strong note, but due to selling pressure in the first hour of trading, both the market indices fell into the red. However, after this, there was a slight improvement in the market situation as buying started again. In the trading till 2 pm, Sensex was trading with a weakness of 0.001 percent and Nifty with a slight gain of 0.04 percent.

On Monday, a holiday has been declared in Maharashtra due to the consecration of life in Shri Ram temple of Ayodhya. Therefore, despite today being a holiday, the stock market is being traded like a normal day, so that the trading sessions of the year can be completed. Along with this, today NSE and BSE are switching to disaster recovery site for a day, so that trading work is not affected in case of any technical problem or crash of the primary site.

In the trading till now, among the big stocks of the stock market, shares of Coal India, Kotak Mahindra, Power Grid Corporation, Hindalco Industries and ICICI Bank were trading with a strength of 4.04 percent to 1.16 percent. Shares of Hindustan Unilever, TCS, IndusInd Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and Nestle were seen trading with a fall of 3.23 per cent to 1.07 per cent.

In the current trading, there was active trading in 2,122 shares in the stock market. Of these, 1,215 shares were trading in the green after earning profits, while 907 shares were trading in the red after incurring losses. Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 14 shares remained in the green with the support of buying. On the other hand, 16 shares were trading in the red mark due to selling pressure, while out of the stocks included in Nifty, 23 shares were seen trading in the green mark and 27 shares were seen trading in the red mark.

BSE Sensex opened today at 72,008.30 points with a gain of 325.07 points. Soon after trading started, selling pressure started building in the market, due to which the index started falling. After the first hour of trading, there was buying pressure for some time, due to which the index jumped to 72,026.26 points. After this, due to the selling pressure again, around 1 pm this index dived into the red and reached 71,499.27 points. Amid continuous buying and selling in the market, the Sensex was trading at 71,681.88 points with a weakness of 1.35 points till 2 pm.

Like Sensex, NSE’s Nifty started trading today at 21,706.15 points with a gain of 83.75 points. Due to selling pressure after the market opened, this index also declined, but after 10 am, after getting buying support, this index increased slightly, due to which Nifty jumped to 21,720.30 points. However, after this once again there was selling pressure, due to which this index reached the red mark at 21,578.75 points. Amid continuous buying and selling in the market, till 2 pm, Nifty was trading at 21,630.55 points with a rise of 8.15 points.

The domestic stock market started trading with gains in the pre-opening session today amid mixed global signals. In this session, BSE Sensex was at the level of 72,230.69 points with a rise of 547.46 points or 0.76 percent. Nifty had strengthened by 150 points or 0.69 percent in the pre-opening session and reached the level of 21,772.40 points.

Before this, on the last trading day on Friday, the Sensex had closed at the level of 71,683.23 points with a gain of 496.37 points or 0.70 percent. At the same time, Nifty had jumped 160.15 points or 0.75 percent and ended Friday’s trading at the level of 21,622.40 points.
