Ministry of External Affairs has launched mPassport Police App to make passport, there will be ease in police verification

New Delhi : It will now be very easy for those who make passports for traveling abroad, to get police verification done. The Ministry of External Affairs on Friday launched ‘mPassport Police App’ to streamline and speed up the police verification process for issuing passports. According to a release issued on Friday by the Regional Passport Office (RPO) of the Ministry of External Affairs, Delhi, the ‘mPassport Police App’ will now prove to be helpful in making the entire process of police verification and submission paperless.
10 days savings in verification time
According to a release issued by Abhishek Dubey, Regional Passport Officer, Delhi, the use of the tablet will reduce the verification time from 15 days to five days and effectively reduce the passport issuance timeline to 10 days. RPO Delhi said in a tweet on Friday that the Regional Passport Office is committed to efficient service delivery and Digital India. ‘mPassport Police App’ will reduce the verification time to 5 days.
350 mobile tabs dedicated to policemen
It has been said in the tweet that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has dedicated 350 mobile tablets to the Special Branch of Delhi Police. With these tablets the entire process of passport application verification will become digital and paperless. With this, the verification time will be reduced to 5 days.
Transparency will come in police investigation
On the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in one of his tweets on Thursday that he launched the Passport Mobile application for quick verification of passports. This will save time through digital verification and bring transparency in police investigation. Amit Shah further wrote that these steps taken today are important efforts in the direction of Modi ji’s police technology mission for smart policing.
