Muslim women will benefit the most from Uniform Civil Code

The BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now on the way to fulfill another resolution taken in the interest of the country and that is the resolution of Uniform Civil Code. The country has been asking for a Uniform Civil Code law for a long time, the courts of the country also want the same and the biggest thing is that the Uniform Civil Code is constitutional. Addressing the “Mera Booth Sabse Saubhag” program organized for BJP workers in Bhopal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has indicated that now the government is moving fast on the Uniform Civil Code and it will be implemented before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Already in the upcoming sessions of the Parliament, it can be passed by the House. Addressing the program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said very clearly that some opposition parties who indulge in appeasement and consider the Muslim community only as their vote bank, are provoking Muslims in the name of Uniform Civil Code. He said that if there is one law for one member in a house and another for another, will the house be able to run? So how will the country be able to run with such a dual system? Prime Minister Modi said that the Supreme Court has repeatedly said to bring a common civil code, but those who do vote bank politics have always opposed it.

On the other hand, the country’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had also said in a program recently that the Uniform Civil Code is being opposed under a big and foreign conspiracy. The strong attitude shown by the Defense Minister is also sending out a message that the Uniform Civil Code will very soon become the law of India. The government is moving forward on the Uniform Civil Code with great caution and arguments so that its opposition cools down. This is the reason that first of all, the Central Law Commission has asked common citizens and religious institutions for their suggestions and views on the Uniform Civil Code in the context of the Code, so that the same law applies to all citizens, societies, sects and religions of India. Uniform Civil Code has been one of the three basic goals of the Bharatiya Janata Party since its inception. After forming the BJP government at the Center from 2014 to 2019, till now it has achieved two major goals. Firstly, Shri Ramjanmabhoomi in Ayodhya has been liberated and the construction of grand Ram temple is in progress and secondly, Article 370 has been removed from Jammu and Kashmir and now the government is moving forward on Uniform Civil Code.

At present, the Uniform Civil Code law is in force in the Indian state of Goa, while the process is underway in Gujarat and Uttarakhand. In Uttarakhand, a commission is consulting the general public on this subject and its report will come by June 30. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami says that every promise made to the people of Uttarakhand will be fulfilled at any cost and Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in the state soon. Just before the assembly elections in Gujarat and Uttarakhand, the BJP had given a message to the public by setting up a commission to implement the Uniform Civil Code, which also benefited the Bharatiya Janata Party in the elections. Chief Minister Dhami says that population control can also come in this law, which will be mandatory for everyone to obey.

Even before this, the Central Government had sought suggestions on the Uniform Civil Code from the 21st Law Commission, then the Law Commission had said in its report that, “There is no need for a Uniform Civil Code in the country right now.” But now the 22nd Law Commission once Then started its initiative on Uniform Civil Code. Earlier, in the Shah Bano case in 1985 and again in 2015, the Supreme Court has expressed its concern over the Uniform Civil Code and has spoken about enacting a law. Article-44 of the Constitution also talks about the implementation of Uniform Civil Code. The purpose of this article is to follow the principle of secular democratic republic in the preamble of the constitution. Uniform Civil Code is mentioned in Article 44 of Part-IV of the Constitution of India. It has also given a policy direction that it will be our goal to implement Uniform Civil Code law.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India, had also strongly debated in favor of the Uniform Civil Code in the meetings of the Constituent Assembly, but because of Nehruji, his proposal had gone into cold storage. Baba Saheb had said, “I personally do not understand why religion should be given importance in this vast wide jurisdiction which is full of inequality, discrimination and other things which conflict with our fundamental rights. Used to be? We are getting this freedom to improve our social system, what are we doing for this freedom?

However, after the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, there will be a sense of equality among the citizens. Muslim women will be benefited the most. Men will get the same rights as other women in matters like the right of four marriages, halala, succession. Religion-based personal law boards will end after the Uniform Civil Code is implemented. The politics of hijab and fatwas will slow down. This is the reason why all the hypocrisy of secularism parties have mobilized and set out to provoke the Muslim society. Uniform Civil Code in India is being opposed only on the basis of religion and to shine religious politics, whereas Uniform Civil Code is applicable in secular countries like America, Ireland, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Turkey, Indonesia, Sudan, Egypt etc. Is.
