New Delhi, 01 September (Hindustan Times). The Central Government launched the ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ scheme in six states from September 1 in Gurugram today to inculcate the habit of taking GST bill on every purchase among the consumers. Under this scheme, you can win a reward of up to Rs 10 lakh every month with a GST bill of Rs 200. Every three months there will be a chance to win a prize of one crore rupees in the bumper lucky draw.
Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra said on its launch on Friday that the ‘My Bill, My Right’ GST lucky draw scheme is being started on a pilot basis in six states. The Center and the States will contribute equally to the prize money of this scheme. This scheme has been implemented in six states and union territories of Assam, Gujarat, Haryana and Puducherry, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, which will run for the next 12 months.
The government will select 800 people every month through lucky-draw in this scheme. All the selected people will get a reward of Rs 10,000. Out of these, 10 such people will be selected, who will be given a reward of Rs 10 lakh each. Apart from this, a bumper draw will also be held every three months, in which two people will get a prize of Rs 1 crore each. However, the 3-month scheme is only for merchants.
To participate in this scheme, you need to install the ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ mobile app. You can participate in this by uploading a copy of GST bill worth more than Rs 200 on ‘web.merabill.gst.gov.in’ after login in this. Under this plan, you can upload a maximum of 25 GST bills in a month.
The government has fixed a fund of Rs 30 crore for the prize money in the current financial year 2023-24 for the ‘My Bill, My Right’ scheme. Under this scheme, consumers will be encouraged to take bills for the purchase of all items. The objective of the scheme is to bring about a cultural change in the behavior of the general public and in the society so that people consider it their right to collect bills for purchasing things.
