Naag Panchmi 2023: This temple is famous for the worship of Nagraj

This year the holy festival of Nag Panchami is being celebrated on 21st August. Lord Ship wears a snake garland around his neck, while Lord Vishnu rides on Sheshnag.
The Mannarasala Srinagaraja temple is located in Haripad village of Alappuzha district of Kerala. More than 30,000 snakes have been painted on the way to the Mannarasala temple and on the trees.
The Mannarsala temple of Kerala is famous in the country and the world for thousands and thousands of idols related to the snake race. People also know this holy pilgrimage associated with Nag Devta by the name of Snake Temple.
A special puja called Uruli Kamazhthal is performed in the Mannarsala temple in Kerala, which is considered fruitful for women desiring a child.
This temple is considered to be of Mahabharata period. It is believed that people’s empty laps are filled just by darshan and worship in this snake temple.
Many fierce snakes used to reside at this place. Arjun had burnt this forest to ashes with his weapons. Then the snakes living in that forest started running here and there after saving their lives.
