Shimla (Gajendra): Famous actors Nana Patekar and Rajpal Yadav, producer Anil Sharma and other unit members of Journey Film paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu at Oak Over on Monday evening. The Chief Minister said that the state government is providing encouragement to film production in Himachal. Himachal is famous for its rich culture, history and picturesque places. The Government has formulated a comprehensive film policy to develop Himachal as a preferred destination for film production.
Under this, a Film Facilitation Center will be set up in the Information and Public Relations Department which will act as a single window and through this, all approvals and permissions related to film production will be ensured through online process within three working days. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government will provide better facilities to the film makers as well as provide the best and more developed shooting locations.
The State Government will also allow film units to provide use of airstrips and helipads located in different parts of the State for outdoor shooting of films. The Chief Minister said the government is also considering instituting an annual film award for outstanding films shot at least 50 per cent in the state. The state government will also set up a Film Development Fund for organizing film festivals, awards and other activities. Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister on Media Naresh Chauhan was also present on this occasion.
