New Parliament House, symbol of Indian pride

Today India’s parliamentary proceedings are going to start from the new Parliament building on the appearance day of the first revered and destroyer of obstacles Siddhivinayak Shri Ganesh Ji. This is a moment of pride for all Indians. Addressing the MPs on the occasion of bidding goodbye to the old Parliament building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘The Parliamentary Yatra is to remember it once again and to move ahead by remembering the important moment of history before moving to the new House. have the opportunity. Before independence, this used to be the place of the House. After independence, this Parliament got recognition. The decision to construct this building was taken by foreign MPs, but we can never forget that the sweat and hard work and money of my countrymen have been invested in its construction. The PM said, ‘Farewell to this house is a very emotional moment, even when a family leaves the old house and goes to a new house, many memories shake it for a few moments. As we are leaving this house, our mind and brain are also filled with those emotions and are filled with many memories. Celebrations, enthusiasm, sour and sweet moments, squabbles are associated with these memories. PM Modi gave his last speech of 50 minutes in the old building of Parliament. During this, the PM remembered the former Prime Ministers and said – This is the House where the echo of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s Stroke of Midnight inspires us all. This House also witnessed the liberation war movement of Bangladesh under the leadership of Indira Gandhi. He said, the House has also seen the removal of Cash for Vote and 370. One Nation One Tax, GST, One Rank One Pension, 10 percent reservation for the poor was also given by this House. During his address, PM Modi also thanked the workers working in Parliament. Prime Minister Modi said, the Constituent Assembly was held in this building for two years and 11 months and it gave the guiding Constitution to the country. In these 75 years, the faith of the countrymen in the Parliament has been increasing. The biggest specialty of democracy is that people have unwavering faith in this institution. From Pandit Nehru ji, Shastri ji, Atal ji, Manmohan Singh, a huge number of people served in the House and gave a new direction to the country. Today is also the time to praise him. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Lohia ji have done the work of giving strength to the voice of the countrymen in this House. Amidst the moments of excitement and enthusiasm, the House sometimes had tears in its eyes and also had to face the sorrow of losing three Prime Ministers of the country during their tenure. Then he bid a tearful farewell in this House. Today when we are about to leave this house and move to the new building, many things are coming to our mind. When I became PM, I bowed my head on the steps of the House. The person living on the platform reached Parliament. I had never imagined that this country would give me so much respect and love. Representatives of every section of the society are seen in this House and there are people from all sections of the society. Despite many crises and difficulties, MPs have come to Parliament and performed their public representative duties despite physical discomfort.
It is noteworthy that after hoisting the tricolor national flag on the new Parliament building, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, while talking to the journalists, said that this is a historic moment, India is witnessing the era of change. The world fully recognizes India’s strength, power and contribution. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Prakash Birla supported Dhankhar while hoisting the national flag.
The Old Parliament House was inaugurated on January 18, 1927. Regarding the Old Parliament House, famous architect AGK Menon said, ‘Parliament House is not just an iconic building, it is a repository of history and our democracy.’ He said it is part of the ‘Central Vista’ redevelopment project. This historic building saw the dawn of independence in the country, its chambers echoed the historic ‘Encounter with Destiny’ speech of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on August 15, 1947 and the Constituent Assembly met here.
There are many historical events associated with the 95-year journey of the Old Parliament House, from the freedom struggle to the attainment of independence and beyond, which have influenced the destiny of the countrymen. If India’s past is linked with the old Parliament House, then the new Parliament House is telling the story of our present and is going to play an important role in building the future of India.
Dr. L.M. Athale has written in the book ‘History and Culture’, ‘Man first thinks, then tries to behave accordingly. His thinking is a symbol of his personality and his behavior is a symbol of his creativity. The activities of the society also proceed in the same manner.
