Las Vegas (Uttam Hindu News): Launched by Samsung Electronics almost five years ago, the foldable smartphone has seen developments and innovations in both performance and technology to meet customer demands.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is the latest clamshell-style foldable released last summer. With a wider front cover display and a lighter, thinner hinge, the Z Flip 5 makes it easier for users to fold than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
At CES 2024, which kicked off this week in Las Vegas, Samsung Display, the exclusive supplier of foldable screens for its parent Samsung Electronics, unveiled groundbreaking concepts that push the boundaries of foldable smartphone design and provide a glimpse of what foldable smartphones could look like. Which direction are you going?
One of the standout innovations showcased at CES is the new Flex In and Out Flip concept, reports news agency Yonhap.
This foldable smartphone display boasts of 360-degree folding capability, allowing users to completely turn the device backwards.
This unique feature enables users to use the full screen of the phone even when it is turned off, allowing features like taking selfies with the main high-definition camera.
Another Flex Lip concept device features an extended dual-folding panel, one edge of which is shorter than the other when folded back. The larger section accommodates several icons in the phone’s quick settings menu, controls media playback, and displays the battery level and time.
A staff member at Samsung Display’s showroom at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas described it as “a new foldable display with an edge panel.”
While Samsung Display did not comment on its plans to supply new dual-folding displays to Samsung Electronics. Showcased at CES 2024, they offer a glimpse of the world’s largest smartphone maker’s vision for future foldable smartphones.
