New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) on Wednesday advised Paytm Fastag users to purchase a new Fastag issued from any other bank before March 15. This will help in avoiding fines or any double charges while traveling on National Highways, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said.
As per the guidelines issued by RBI regarding the ban on Paytm Payments Bank, Paytm Fastag users will not be able to recharge or top-up the balance after March 15. However, users can use their existing balance to pay the toll after the due date.
The ministry said, for any further queries or help related to Paytm Fastag, users can reach out to their respective banks. Apart from this, users can see the frequently asked questions given on the website of Indian Highway Management Company Limited (IHMCL). NHAI has appealed to all Paytm Fastag users to take proactive steps to ensure seamless travel on National Highways across the country.
Last month, the central bank had asked the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to ensure alternative arrangements for customers using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) of Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) so that the handle ‘Paytm’ Can be transferred without any hindrance.
RBI said, once again it is informed that customers with Fastag and National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) issued by Paytm Payments Bank can explore other options before March 15, 2024 to avoid any inconvenience.
